Conquer Nepal’s Highest Trekking Peak with Summit Solution

Mera Peak, standing at 6,476 meters, is Nepal’s highest trekking peak and one of the most sought-after climbing objectives in the Himalayas. Located in the Mahalangur section, just south of Mount Everest, it offers climbers sweeping 360-degree panoramas of Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu, Kanchenjunga, and dozens of other Himalayan giants. First summited on May 20, 1953, by J.O.M. Roberts and Sen Tenzing, Mera Peak has since become a globally recognized introduction to high-altitude climbing, balancing accessibility with the challenges of glacial terrain, high-altitude endurance, and snow-covered slopes.

The expedition begins with a thrilling mountain flight to Lukla, followed by trekking through picturesque Sherpa villages, lush forests, and high Himalayan passes. The route crosses the Zatrwa La Pass at 4,610 meters, offering incredible views of rolling hills and distant peaks. Base Camp is situated at 5,300 meters on the Mera Glacier, providing climbers with the opportunity to practice essential mountaineering skills such as crampon use, ice axe techniques, and navigating fixed ropes under the guidance of our experienced Sherpa team.

High Camp at 5,800 meters, located on a rocky outcrop above the glacier, serves as an important acclimatization stop and launch point for the summit push. Summit day begins in the early hours, with climbers traversing glacier terrain, ascending gradually steep snow slopes, and finally reaching the summit ridge. From the top, the unparalleled panoramic view of Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu, Kanchenjunga, and surrounding peaks creates an unforgettable Himalayan experience that defines the essence of high-altitude adventure.

Although considered a trekking peak, Mera Peak requires preparation for glacier travel, high-altitude endurance, and basic technical climbing skills. Summit Solution Treks and Expedition provides expert Sherpa guidance, a safe and well-organized itinerary, and fully managed logistics from permits to high-altitude camp setup. Small group sizes ensure personalized attention, allowing climbers to focus on both safety and enjoyment while building confidence for future expeditions.

The Mera Peak Expedition is more than a climb; it is a transformative Himalayan journey. For first-time Himalayan summiteers, it represents a monumental achievement, while for aspiring mountaineers, it serves as essential training for technical 7,000m and 8,000m peaks. With Summit Solution Treks and Expedition, adventurers can experience Nepal’s highest trekking peak with professional guidance, cultural immersion, and breathtaking Himalayan vistas, making Mera Peak a climb that inspires both skill and wonder.
